I am compelled to write my substack, even as President Trump accepts the enormous responsibility of the Presidency.
His speech and pronouncements must be taken at face value. Conspiracy advocates must be silenced, regardless of the guarantees of freedom of speech. The still vocal protests of opponents of a well-engineered transition of power do not warrant an audience.
The frequent boos by some of the attendees were a disgrace during the solemnity of the inauguration. Our constitution guarantees a peaceful transition of power. This sacred document stopped imperial power and monarchy. A then small and what appeared to be significant would overthrow tyrannical power.
Our Constitution stipulates the oneness of our democracy, outlining the basics of our democracy, yet outlining a process for change. Our founding fathers were prescient to see unknown changes in America with time, not even knowing what was to come.
Trump’s vision for the United States
Donald Trump has outlined a comprehensive agenda for his second administration, focusing on a range of issues from immigration to economic policies. Here are some key proposals:
Immigration
Mass Deportation Program: Trump aims to create the largest mass deportation program in U.S. history, utilizing the National Guard and local police forces to enforce immigration laws [3].
End Birthright Citizenship: He proposes to end the recognition of automatic birthright citizenship for children born to undocumented immigrants, which would likely require a constitutional amendment [2][3].
Border Security: Plans include reinstating the "Remain in Mexico" policy and limiting immigration based on public health grounds, as well as designating certain drug cartels as terrorist organizations [2][3].
Economic Policies
Tax Reforms: Trump intends to extend his 2017 tax cuts, lowering the corporate tax rate to 15% and rolling back tax increases imposed by the Biden administration [3].
Tariffs and Trade: He proposes imposing tariffs of 10% to 20% on foreign goods and ensuring that federal contracts for essential medications are awarded only to U.S. companies [3].
Energy and Environment
National Energy Emergency: Trump plans to declare a national energy emergency to expedite the permitting process for energy projects and roll back regulations that hinder domestic energy production [2][3].
Drilling in Alaska: He aims to open the Alaskan wilderness to more oil and gas drilling [2].
Social Issues
Diversity and Inclusion: Trump has pledged to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in federal agencies and to establish a biological definition of gender for federal purposes [2][3].
Transgender Rights: He proposes to roll back protections for transgender individuals in various contexts, including education and federal prisons [2][3].
Education
Federal Education Policies: Trump seeks to eliminate the Department of Education and use federal funding to pressure schools to abolish teacher tenure and merit pay [3].
Health Care
Affordable Care Act: He continues to advocate for repealing the Affordable Care Act and has hinted at a new health care plan, although details remain vague [3].
Presidential Powers
Expansion of Executive Authority: Trump aims to strengthen presidential powers, including the ability to control federal spending and reduce the influence of federal bureaucrats [3].
Renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America
Reclaiming the Panama Canal.
