Signing off on DOGE

Seven days ago Donald Trump introduced Elon Musk and DOGE as the cure for the Deep State.

In the ensuing days, thousands of federal employees were dismissed as not performing their jobs adequately, then many were rehired as essential workers. There has been much pushback from the public as well as respected members of Congress.

Yesterday Mr Musk asked federal employees to write out their work records from the past week sounding much like a high school teacher instructing students to write a report or be kept after school. Federal officials have told their employees to ignore the commands coming from DOGE and continue work as usual.

Today Donald Trump said that Musk was not in charge of DOGE. (at least he did not fire “The Apprentice’)

Media, both New Media and Old Media are being manipulated to sow chaos and confusion. It would be better for them to ignore the shenanigans of narcissistic leaders.

I have foolishly contributed to the chaos. I have likers and haters as well.

My new path is clear. I will continue to write on substack, but not on matters of politics.

Governing is about the present, not what we want in the future. The time is now, reality is now, one day at a time.

It is foolish to imagine changing an entire bureaucracy all at once.

The less said about Trump and Musk the better.
